SHROUD OF ORLANDO (Brenda Lee Marquez McCool)
Inspired by the Shroud of Turin (a linen cloth believed by some to be the burial cloth of Jesus), I developed a modern-day shroud for Brenda Lee Marquez McCool, who was fatally shot shielding her gay son from a violent, homophobic killer in senseless hate-crime mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, on June 12, 2016. Being a human shield to save your child is known in Christianity as a perfect sacrifice. She was a mother of 11 and a two-time cancer survivor. #orlandoshooting
